SmithCorp are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking individuals to develop into successful recruitment consultants. No previous experience is required. We provide extensive training and offer unrivalled progression.
SmithCorp is the parent company for a group of 6 successful recruitment businesses, all specialising within the Education sector. Established in 2004, we have won numerous awards and gone on to become a leader in the sector; providing nationwide coverage from our four offices in Cornwall (Truro), Bristol (Clifton and Portishead) and London (Paddington). Our business is organically grown. We hire only at “trainee” level, so each and every recruitment consultant, team leader, manager and Director, even our COO has climbed through the ranks - we don’t parachute people in from the top. We have a dedicated in-house training academy and ensure everyone is fully supported and developed throughout their career with us.
What is the working environment like?
Our offices are all modern, open-plan and equipped with TV’s. Our consultants wear wireless headsets and we encourage hot desking. This keeps it fresh each day and allows for sharing of knowledge and expertise to aid your development. We foster a vibrant, sociable culture with regular nights out. “The Hub”, our latest addition in the Bristol offices provides both inspiring group training facilities and a great new social space for our consultants to relax, eat and play in.
What will you get in return for your hard work?
You will receive a basic salary with a generous, uncapped commission structure. There are also a number of ongoing sales incentives that run throughout the year so individuals who consistently meet and exceed targets will have the opportunity to join our three annual all-expenses paid VIP trips: Skiing, Summer Sun and the big one - Las Vegas as well as a seat at our monthly Lunch Clubs (where you will be wined and dined at a top restaurant). For the big billers, there is a Rolex target. On top of that, there are socials (lots of socials),

What does a career with us realistically look like?
It’s very much a meritocracy here, so the rate at which you progress will very much come down to you and the work you put in, however the following is a very realistic road map:
You should hit at least two promotions and undergo a minimum of three training courses including a mentorship with one of the top performers here. There is no probation period and you have the ability to earn commission from day 1. Within your first 12 months, you should be set to earn between £21-28k with your basic salary guaranteed to rise by a minimum of £3k, however hardworking consultants have earned over £30k+.
You can expect to achieve promotion to senior consultant and before the year is out be well on track for a move into management, with your basic increasing by as much as £7k. Realistically you should expect to earn between £30-40k. However again, hard-working consultants have earned in excess of £40k in this year.
You could be managing a team of between 2 – 4 people with your mind set on growing your team further. Realistically you should expect to be earning between £40-50k however, again, the reward for those who go above and beyond expectations can expect to earn much higher.
You could be leading an established team of between 5 – 10 people and earning anywhere between £50-70k+. You will likely have been enrolled into our two year Leadership Development Programme and will be progressing towards six figure earnings and Associate Directorship within the next couple of years

In truth our consultants come from a wide variety of different backgrounds: sales, hospitality, retail, teaching, sports & leisure, military and fresh graduates to name a few. We are not looking for any specific experience or qualifications however we are looking for evidence that you are:
• Driven to get on in life
• Bright - by that we mean switched on. Many of our team have degrees but plenty don’t.
• Possessing self belief, a positive attitude and passion for what you do
• Outgoing with strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Goal driven with a highly competitive spirit
• Resilient to deal with knock-backs
• Have a sense of urgency and the stamina to excel in a fast moving, sales-driven environment
Perhaps you have excelled in a sport, exceeded sales targets in your previous employment or juggled part-time work with a degree.
