Sister start-ups make their recruitment mark
Sister start-ups make their recruitment mark Sydney’s Lotus People and SustainHealth both finalists in this year’s SARA Small Recruitment Agency of the Year category
Sydney’s sister start-up recruitment brands Lotus People and SustainHealth will both be making their mark at next week’s prestigious Seek Annual Recruitment Awards (SARA) event as finalists and friendly rivals in the competitive Small Recruitment Agency of the Year category.
As part of the SustainAbility Consulting Group, which also includes SustainAbility and SustainDigital, Lotus People and SustainHealth have only been in operation for three years and one year respectively.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be finalists at such an early stage of our business growth. This was SustainHealth’s first awards entry and the team was heavily involved in creating the content for our submission, which makes the nomination even more special,” says SustainHealth founder and director Kay Reynoldson.
Lotus People was also a well-deserved SARA finalist during its first year of operation in 2016 and already has a number of industry awards under its belt. The boutique office support recruiter is now up against its younger sister for the hotly contested small agency award.
“The Small Recruitment Agency of the Year category traditionally has the most submissions, which is why it’s so incredible both SustainHealth and Lotus People have been shortlisted,” says Lotus People co-founder and director Sinead Connolly.
“We’re looking forward to celebrating our successes in Melbourne next week whatever the outcome may be,” she says.
Connolly and Reynoldson not only attribute their success to strong financial growth but also their focus on creating and maintaining exceptional workplace cultures.
“We’re very much focused on the bigger picture. Having a team that feels valued and supported is so important to me,” Connolly explains.
“We invest a lot of time and energy into health and wellness initiatives, CSR strategies, women in leadership programs, networking events and value adds for our clients. A successful agency has to be focused on a holistic way of working, not just on the bottom line,” she adds.
And when she established SustainHealth, Reynoldson was also determined to create an inclusive culture where her team could genuinely be themselves at work.
“Not only have we achieved this in such an authentic manner, but for a young start-up we’ve also implemented progressive and collaborative company processes and incentives with great success,” she says.
