Professional Staffing Trends: Contract renewals indicate confidence in top-notch talent

APSCo Australia has released its Q4 Professional Staffing Trends Report.

In releasing the Report, APSCo Australia Managing Director, Julie Mills says, “Contract renewals have progressively increased over the quarter from 28% in April, to a strong 55% in June."

"This demand by clients for the talent of APSCo Australia Members is a strong indicator of project driven activity and also, more significantly, the quality of the talent. Renewals occur because talent is meeting client requirements and there is a high level of confidence in the relationship,” Mills says.

In contrast, advertising was at the lowest point in the six month rolling average with recruiters taking out more than 50% of the advertising. Direct advertising by employers was greater than by job boards (excluding SEEK) for the first time in the calendar year.

Permanent and contract activity were both above the monthly benchmark and suggests a strong market for professional staffing and recruitment, despite emerging talent gaps.

Mills also adds that APSCo's improved data analysis process and an increase in volume of data from the broadening APSCo Australia Membership sectors has resulted in a more comprehensive Professional Staffing Trends report.
